Our Story

All About What God Has Done In New Hope Is Coming Soon.......

Our Mission

At New Hope Baptist Church of Meridian, Mississippi, we believe God has made us to be part of His family to bring glory to Him and to bless each other. We, as a church, exist to pursue four basic principles:

  • Worship the Savior
  • Win the Lost
  • Disciple the Won
  • Care for the Fellowship

WORSHIP THE SAVIOR

3C3D3B

Psalm 73:25-26

WIN THE LOST

We are a global priority church.  That means we desire to spread the good news of salvation in Christ Jesus to all peoples of the world.  We believe the Bible when it speaks of man’s sinful nature and lost condition.  We recognize that it is only by God’s grace that we have been saved and so we desire to see others...

“taste and see that the LORD is good. . .” (Psalm 34:8).

We consider it a great joy to serve as beggars telling other beggars where to find bread.

DISCIPLE THE WON

We do not believe that someone can work his or her way to God.  We do affirm, however, that the faith that saves sinners brings with it a changed life.  The Bible and the Holy Spirit serve as the agents of change.  We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and we believe it contains the power to bring about the righteous life God desires.

That power is the Holy Spirit working through the truth of the Scripture to bring about God-pleasing change in the lives of individual believers.  Therefore, we prioritize the Spirit-filled preaching and teaching of the Bible as the only right way to disciple the won.

CARE FOR THE FELLOWSHIP

In today’s society, privacy and seclusion are much sought after luxuries.  While these are cherished values and beneficial to some degree, we feel that Christ-centered interaction is vital to a well-balanced life. It is our duty to…

“Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”

Hebrews 3:13

We as believers in Christ must look after one another and be accountable to one another.  Jesus loved the church and gave Himself for her (Ephesians 5:25).  For this reason, we seek to take relationships seriously, encouraging each other through acts of kindness and hospitality.

We believe these principles help clarify what is important as we press onward in the pilgrimage of life.  Each serves as a reference point by which we can chart our way and stay on course.  It is our prayer and hope that you consider joining us in the journey.

Our beliefs

We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired word of God and the basis for our beliefs. This church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of “The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message”. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.

We are a Southern Baptist Church in cooperation with the Lauderdale Baptist Association, the Mississippi Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
